Loonest is run by Password Dev LLC ("we", "us"). This page explains what we collect when you use the Loonest app and loonest.com, and what we do with it. Questions? Email hello@loonest.com.
Browsing is anonymous
You can look for restrooms without an account. We only ask you to sign in when you want to rate a restroom or add one.
Signing in
You can sign in with your email (we send a one-time code or link, no password) or with Sign in with Apple. We store the email address linked to your account.
What we store
- Your email address.
- Your ratings: cleanliness score, tags and an optional comment.
- Restrooms you add.
- Reports you send us.
- Photos you add. We shrink them on your phone and remove location and camera details before upload. Approved photos are public but never show who added them.
Ratings and comments are public, but they never show who wrote them. Nobody can see your name or email next to a rating.
Location
The app uses your location to find restrooms near you, and to mark a rating as "on site" when you are within about 75 meters of the restroom. Your location is not stored or logged with your account. We keep only the "on site" yes or no.
Website waitlist
If you join the waitlist, we email you a link to confirm. We store your email only after you confirm. To unsubscribe or have your email deleted, email hello@loonest.com.
Who helps us run Loonest
- Supabase: database and sign-in.
- Resend: sending emails.
- Vercel: hosting loonest.com.
- Google Maps: the map in the app.
- Google Cloud Vision: checks new photos for people and unsafe content.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple.
These providers handle data only to provide their service to us. Restroom locations also come from OpenStreetMap contributors.
What we don't do
No ads. We don't sell or share your personal data, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
Deleting your account
In the app, go to Account, then Delete account. This removes your account and your ratings. Restrooms you added stay on the map but are no longer linked to you.
Children
Loonest isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Where we operate
Loonest is built for people in the United States.
California residents
If you live in California, you can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and expect equal treatment if you do. We don't sell or share personal data. Email hello@loonest.com and we'll take it from there.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top, and tell you in the app or by email if the change is a big one.
